Simulation Execution
The ultimate goal of configuring a satellite in SOLIS is to be able to execute the simulation, output telemetry, and analyze the data.
Run execution
To execute a SOLIS run, use the menu button. When clicked, the Run Status Window becomes active. There are three ways to run SOLIS:
Run Options | Description |
---|---|
Run As Fast As Possible | Runs the Simulation as fast as possible with no STK animation enabled. |
Run x Time Real-Time | Attempts to run <x> time real time. A dialog appears requesting the run multiplier. STK animation occurs at the Execution Rate of SOLIS assuming the run multiplier is honored. See SOLIS Configuration for more details. |
Run in Real-Time | Runs the simulation in real time. STK animation occurs at the Execution Rate of SOLIS. See SOLIS Configuration for more details. |
The Run menu also features additional settings:
- Start Paused: When you select this, the simulation will initialize but not actually begin execution until you click in the Run Status window. This is useful for debugging DLLs and intercepting the telemetry stream manually.
- Log Output: When selected, SOLIS will create TXT files that will contain all of the commands or EVRs from the latest run. Those files can be found in the
<ScenarioName>/<SatelliteName>/logs
directory.
The default method that is selected at startup is Run x Time Real-Time. Choose any of the other options by clicking on the dropdown arrow to the left of the run menu button.
